Alex Bregman’s Scouting Report

Hitting

Bregman is a high contact hitter with a good that rarely strikes out and gets a lot of walks.  He may remind a lot of people of Dustin Pedroia with his style of play and work ethic.  Bregman has the potential to be a Pedroia type player.  He tries to pull the ball way to often and will need to learn to push the ball if he wants to be a successful big league hitter.  He has great bat speed and that may be the case of his pull happy swing.  He’s a great line drive hitter and will get a lot of doubles.  The bottom line is that Bregman is a talented hitter that plays hard on every play.

Fielding

Bregman is one of the more talented defensive shortstops in the country and he has the ability to play multiple positions.  A team might draft him draft because of his ability to play all over the place.

Baserunning

Bregman has above average speed and the ability to steal 15-20 bases a year at the big league level.
