Astros and Padres Working on a Trade that May Include Ross or Kimbrel

The Houston Astros and the San Diego Padres have been “working on something big,” according to Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports.  Craig Kimbrel and Tyson Ross have been rumored to be in the discussions, with San Diego looking to add an outfielder from the Astros.

Chris Cotillo SB Nation is reporting that Jake Marisnick is “believed to be in play.”  That would make sense since Houston acquired Carlos Gomez on Thursday.  The Astros already have a full outfield with Gomez, George Springer and Colby Rasmus and could afford to let go of Marisnick, who they acquired last year from the Marlins.

Evan Drellich of the Houton Chronicle is reporting that nothing is close at the moment.  While nothing is close it still seems that the discussions are active, according to Cotillo.
