The Boston Red Sox first round draft picks include 76 players, with 35 being pitchers and 38 of those being drafted out of high school. The Red Sox have selected 20 outfielders, 10 shortstops, four catchers, four first basemen, two second basemen and one third baseman in the first round of the MLB draft. Of the pitchers taken, the Red Sox have selected 23 right-handers and 12 left-handers.

The Red Sox have drafted 37 college players with their first round selection, with the last being Tanner Houck in 2017. Boston has never selected first overall.
