Carson Fulmer’s Scouting Report

Vanderbilt has produced the following pitchers David Price, Sonny Gray, Mark Prior and Mike Minor. It’s never a bad idea to take a Vanderbilt product and Fulmer has the potential to join that list. He’s a very hard thrower with a unique windup. His windup is quick and it looks like he’s trying way too hard to throw his arm out. Fulmer has the stuff to be a dominant starting pitcher but he may need to change his mechanics up just a bit. He releases at a three-quarter slot. It would be a waste of talent to put this guy in a big league bullpen. He’s a very fast working pitcher and has the ability to throw a lot of strikes, but he has had trouble with command at times. We’ve seen quirky mechanics work before and you never no it could work for Fulmer.

Carson Fulmer’s Best Fit

Fulmer’s best fit is the Chicago Cubs, who need to add starting pitching. Fulmer would have the ability to come up through a loaded farm system and have the ability to start his career under the tutelage of Jon Lester and Joe Maddon.
