Miami’s Angel Rodriguez hits game winning three to beat Florida

Miami guard Angel Rodriguez hit a three pointer with 18 second left in the game, to give Miami a 68-67 lead over #8 Florida. Miami would go on to win 69-67, after Rodriguez hit a free-throw with three seconds left.   Rodriguez is a redshirt junior, who had to set out last season, after transferring from Kansas State.

Angel Rodriguez finished with 24 points, which lead the team, he also hit five of his eight attempts from the three-point line.

The Hurricanes improved to 2-0 and you have to wonder if they will have another season like 2012-2013.  They made the NCAA tournament that year as a two seed, before losing to Marquette in the Sweet Sixteen.  Last season was a huge disappointment, with the Hurricanes going 17-16 and not making any postseason tournament.  Miami is off to a good start this season and will have a tough season ahead of them, being in the ACC.

Here’s Angel Rodriguez’s great shot.
