Panthers vs. Broncos: Denver Opens Super Bowl Defense with Questions

The Carolina Panthers and Denver Broncos will kick off their seasons with a Super Bowl 50 rematch in Denver on Thursday at 8:30 p.m. ET on NBC.

Cam Newton is coming off an MVP season for the Panthers and will look to ride his 2015 success into 2016. Newton will also see the return of wide reciever Kelvin Benjamin, who missed most of the 2015 season with an injury. The Panthers defense should be dominant yet again, but they’ll be without cornerback Josh Norman, who signed with Washington during the offseason.

The Broncos will be starting a new quarterback in 2016, after Peyton Manning retired, with Trevor Siemian taking the helm. Denver will continue to focus on the running game this year, especially early in the season as Siemian gets use to being a pro starter. Denver’s defense should be just as tenacious as it was last season, but the big question for the Broncos will be can they put up enough points?

Fueled by Sports predicts that the Panthers will win the game, 17-13.
