Twins Call Up Byron Buxton

The Minnesota Twins have called up top prospect Byron Buxton, according to Phil Miller of the Star Tribune. He will start tomorrow game against the Rangers in Arlington.

The 21-year-old is the top prospect according to Fueled by Sports, MLB.com and Baseball Prospectus. He is the number two prospect in Baseball America’s rankings.  Buxton is considered to be a five-tool player and has been compared to Mike Trout.

Buxton was hitting .283 with seven homers and 12 RBIs at Double-A Chattanooga.  We’ve seen a lot of top prospects making their major league debut in the past month, with Kris Bryant, Joey Gallo and Carlos Correa among that group.
