ACC Week 4 Picks: Can Duke Beat Georgia Tech Again?

The ACC doesn’t have many mainstream games this week, but they still have some quality ones like #20 Georgia Tech at Duke, Boise State at Virginia and #8 LSU at Syracuse. Florida State and Clemson are both off this week.

Here are my ACC Week 4 Picks:

Friday, September 25

20 Boise State at Virginia 21

Virginia has to be one of the most inconsistent teams I’ve ever seen. One week they can be in control of a game against Notre Dame and blow the late lead, and the next week they can struggle with William & Mary. It just doesn’t make sense, but I guess the team had a letdown after the heartbreaking loss to the Irish. Now Boise State comes to town and the Broncos haven’t looked all that impressive this season, but still bring a good team to Scott Stadium. This should be a great Friday night game. I’m going to go with the home team in a close one.

Saturday, September 26

31 #20 Georgia Tech at Duke 21

Duke suffered a tough loss at home against Northwestern last week and now they’ll have to stop Georgia Tech and the triple option, which won’t be pretty. I expect this game to be close heading into the fourth, but the Yellow Jackets will wear down the Blue Devils defense to take control of the game.

41 #8 LSU at Syracuse 17

Can Syracuse pull off the biggest upset of the year? Probably not, but they might make it interesting early. At the end of the day Leonard Fournette and LSU are just too physical for Syracuse to handle.

10 Delaware at North Carolina 52

45 Indiana at Wake Forest 21

Indiana’s defense has been just awful this season, while the Wake Forest offense has been pathetic. That right there could make this game an interesting matchup, but unfortunately for us this game will probably be a blowout.

21 Northern Illinois at Boston College 14

Boston College lost starting quarterback Darius Wade for the season in their loss to Florida State last week and coach Steve Addazio still hasn’t announced his starter for this week. Northern Illinois is coming off a seven point loss at Ohio State and the Huskies looked very impressive on the defensive side of the ball. If Wade was playing I would most likely take the Eagles, but without him the easy pick goes to Northern Illinois.

27 Virginia Tech at East Carolina 17

East Carolina almost upset Florida two weeks ago and then got blown out by Navy last week. I think Virginia Tech should have no issues in this one, but we all remember what happened last year.

7 Samford at Louisville 42

The Cardinals finally gets their first win on Saturday. You have to feel sorry for Samford though, as Louisville will take out all of their frustrations on them.

45 NC State at South Alabama 10

NC State should improve to 4-0 in a blowout win over South Alabama.

Last Week

8-4

Season

33-6
