Always look on the ‘Whiteside’ of life!

Hassan Whiteside has been nurtured into a legitimate starter by the Miami Heat, and this kid is on route for the most improved player award, he has been astonishing!

Whiteside has started all 11 games for Miami so far this season, winning 7. He was originally drafted by Sacramento as the 33rd pick in 2010 NBA draft. He has broken through into a star since joining Miami.

His stats for this season are nothing short of spectacular; averaging 15 points, 11 rebounds, and 4.5 blocks per game! Hassan also had his 2nd career triple-double on tuesday night as he dropped 22 points, 14 boards and 10 blocks on Minnesota!

The amount of blocked shots Whiteside has is incredible, this season he already has 50 blocks to his name. He leads the league with his 4.5 blocks per, his nearest competitor being Rudy Gobert with 3.22 blocks per, significantly less.

Miami have a strong roster, and Whiteside is playing an integral part in the teams success. His defence is nothing short of spectacular. But let’s not forget about his offensive presence. One stat that has never been counted is the effect a player can have on a crowd, and Hassan is one of the best in the league at bringing the crowd to life. His dunks are BIG and the Miami crowd can’t get enough of them. When he blocks a shot, the crowd go crazy! Even more so when he shakes his head to the crowd and says “Not in our house”. He brings the crowd to life, and they help the team push through to win games.

So Hassan Whiteside has gone from being a 2nd round bench warmer to a legitimate starter on a loaded playoff roster. Do you think he’s the early favorite for most improved player? Tweet me your thoughts @tombonnett2
