Auburn jumps Alabama in latest Coaches Poll

Auburn jumped Alabama in the latest coaches poll.  The Tigers are now the number three team in the country, with Alabama staying at number four.  It really doesn’t matter what either team is ranked though, with the two teams playing each other at the end of the month.

Auburn beat Ole Miss on Saturday, while Alabama was off.  The Crimson Tide only loss this season came at Ole Miss and Auburn only loss came at Mississippi State, who Bama has yet to play.

I don”t agree with one thing in the coaches poll this week.  I think that Ole Miss should be ranked behind LSU.  The Tigers beat the Rebels last week and I could understand Ole Miss being ranked ahead of them last week, when they had just one loss.  LSU beat Ole Miss and it’s only fair to give them the credit they deserve and be ranked ahead of the Rebels.

UCLA made the biggest jump of the week going from 25th to 18th, the Bruins beat Arizona 17-7.  Wisconsin makes their first appearance in the coaching poll since week 6.  The Badgers are ranked 24th in the country and will have to play Nebraska in two weeks.

TCU climbed up to seventh, after beating a very good West Virginia team.  West Virginia fell down to 25th, with all three of their losses coming to top-10 teams.  Oklahoma is the only team they lost to that still isn’t ranked in the top-10.  The Sooners climbed up to 16th in the country according to the coaches poll, after beating Iowa State.  Oklahoma was ranked 20th last week.

Arizona and Utah both dropped down, after their losses on Saturday.  Arizona went from 15th to 21st and Utah went from 18th to 22nd.
