Big 12 Picks Week 11
The Big 12 will have two top-15 matches this week, with #12 Baylor at #15 Oklahoma and #7 Kansas State at #6 TCU. Both games will come down to the wire.
TCU is the talk of the Big 12 right now, and it seems like everybody is forgetting that Kansas Sate only loss came to Auburn. Kansas State has the 12th best scoring defense in the country and the 16th best scoring offense. TCU has struggled defensively against tough opponents, but their offense seems to always be clicking. The Horned Frogs offense is second in the country. Both teams have great quarterbacks, with Trevone Boykin going for TCU and Jake Waters for Kansas State. Waters is approaching 2,000 yards passing and he has 11 touchdown passes this season. He is also a great running quarterback, with 404 yards rushing and seven touchdowns. Boykin has been spectacular this season, with almost 2,500 passing yards and 22 touchdowns. Like Waters, Boykin can run the ball, he has 423 yards rushing with four touchdowns. This matchup will come down to quarterback play and which team plays better defense. I got Kansas State winning a close one, based on their defense and their ability to pull out close games.
Baylor has lost just one game this season, and cannot afford another one. The Bears are still in the Big 12 race, and a loss this weekend will more than likely eliminate them from contention. Baylor has been averaging around 50 points a game, which is the best in the country. They have a very balanced offense, which is the reason for their success. Oklahoma has lost two games this season, both were extremely close. The Sooners lost to Kansas State by one point three week ago. They also lost to TCU earlier this season by just four points. Oklahoma has relied on their ability to run the ball this season, with star freshman running back Samaje Perine. Both games that Oklahoma lost, Perine rushed for less than 90 yards. He rushed for 242 yards in Oklahoma win over West Virginia. This will be a very close game, but I think that Baylor offense will be too much for the Sooners.
