I did all right last week with my Big 12 picks, but I made some risky picks and it cost me from having a better week. The Big 12 has one marquee game this week with the Oklahoma Sooners traveling to Knoxville to take on the Tennessee Volunteers. The Iowa State-Iowa game should also be an interesting one for you Big 12 fans.
Here’s my Big 12 Week 2 Picks:
Saturday, September 12
37 Kansas State at UTSA 10
31 UTEP at Texas Tech 45
10 Liberty at West Virginia 52
6 Stephen F. Austin at #3 TCU 70
28 Iowa at Iowa State 24
This rivalry dates back to 1894 and will feature two completely different teams, with one featuring an air raid type offense and the other relying on their ability to run the ball and play defense. I’ll always take the more physical team in this kind of matchup.
38 #19 Oklahoma at #23 Tennessee 41
There’s a lot on the line in this game, with both teams playing so poorly against ranked opponents last season. This should be a high scoring game, but it will probably be a low scoring one since I said that. I have to go with the home team in this game, but it’s going to be close one.
35 Memphis at Kansas 17
Kansas is just an absolute embarrassment for the conference and it’s about to get a lot worse.
10 Central Arkansas at Oklahoma State 52
7 Lamar at #4 Baylor 63
16 Rice at Texas 31
Texas looked just awful in their opener. Can they actually put up points against Rice? That will be the main question in this game. Just to think five years ago there would be no doubt in your mind that his game would be a blowout, now you just don’t know.
