There’s a few games to watch in the Big-12 this week, with #23 West Virginia traveling to Norman to take on #15 Oklahoma in the marquee game of the week. Texas Tech at #5 Baylor is a game to keep an eye on and the Bears are definitely on upset alert.
Here are my Big 12 Week 5 Picks:
Saturday, October 3
13 Kansas at Iowa State 31
The Cyclones are bad, but the Jayhawks are worse.
27 #23 West Virginia at #15 Oklahoma 24
West Virginia is one of the most experienced teams in all of college football and it’s shown early in the season. Oklahoma struggled at home against Tulsa and the Mountaineers are a completely different beast. I like West Virginia by a field goal.
31 Texas at #4 TCU 45
I still think TCU is a bit overrated and will lose two games this season, but fortunately for them this won’t be one of them. Texas continues to struggle and may be destined for a 1-6 start, something nobody would’ve thought of five years ago. I think the Longhorns can keep it close early, but at the end of the day the Horned Frogs offense is too strong.
48 Texas Tech at #5 Baylor 52
This will be Baylor first test of the season and if this game was in Lubbock I would take the Red Raiders. I like the Bears to win at home in a high-scoring affair.
17 Kansas State at #20 Oklahoma State 21
Kansas State is not the same team that they were last year and it’s showing early on with a six point win over Louisiana Tech. Oklahoma State is a hard team to figure out, but they still have a decent win over Texas. I think this will be a defensive type of battle with the home team winning late.
