The Atlanta Braves have designated Trevor Cahill for assignment and have promoted Dana Eveland from Triple-A. The Braves signed Eveland on June 7th to a minor league deal after he opted out of a minor league contract with the Red Sox.
Cahill, 27, has struggled this season with a 0-3 record and posted a 7.52 ERA in 26 1/3 innings. The Braves had recently moved him to the bullpen and he had a hard time there too. Cahill walked 11 batters during his time in the majors and had an opponent batting average of .330.
