The Atlanta Braves announced on Tuesday that left-handed pitcher Manny Banuelos has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with elbow inflammation.
The Braves acquired the 24-year-old in January from the Yankees. He has been great in his four starts, posting a 2.49 ERA with a 1-2 record. Banuelos had Tommy John Surgery in 2012 and missed the entire 2013 season, the Braves have placed an innings limit on him for this season.
Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez said of the injury: ”We don’t think it’s anything really serious.”
The Braves have called up David Carpenter to take his place.
