Brendan Rodgers’ Scouting Report
Rodgers was widely regarded as the best player available in the 2015 draft and ended up with the Rockies at third overall. He went on to play 37 games win the Pioneer League, hitting a slash of .273/.340/.420 with three homers and 2o RBIs. Rodgers definitely proved that his bat is for real, but his glove still needs a lot of work. He has played some 2B in 2016 and has fielded the position better than shortstop so far.
He has tremendous bat speed and the ball just jumps off his bat to all fields. Rodgers has plus power potential and could potentially hit 25-plus homers a season. He does strikeout a lot and needs to improve his approach at the plate.
Overall, Rodgers has great instincts, a quick bat and unreal strength. His future could be at second, short or third with the latter being the best guess.
