BYU won a thriller at Nebraska, but lost their starting quarterback Taysom Hill for the rest of the season with a foot fracture. Coach Bronco Mendenhall said that the injury was a Lisfranc injury.
The senior missed most of the 2012 and 2014 seasons with leg injuries. Hill was injured on a 21-yard touchdown run in the second quarter. He returned to play in the fourth quarter, when he was hit on an 8-yard scramble and never returned after that.
Freshman Tanner Magnum looked good in his place, completing a 42-yard Hail Mary to receiver Mitch Mathews as time expired on Saturday.
The only full season for Hill was 2013, when he threw for 4,282 yards and 29 touchdowns.
The 25-year-old completed 21-of-his-34 attempts for 268 yards with one touchdown and one interaction against Nebraska.
