Cal Quantrill’s Scouting Report
Quantrill was considered a top pick before going down with Tommy John Surgery after three games in 2015. A team may be willing to take a risk on the young righty with the potential award definitely being worth it. Quantrill offers a solid four pitch mix, with a sinking fastball and a plus potential curve and changeup. His curveball and slider still need work, but both project as average to above average. His mechanics and command are solid and shouldn’t be an issue moving forward. Quantrill is also the son of former major league pitcher Paul Quantrill.
