Calvin Johnson becomes fastest player to reach 10,000 receiving yards

Calvin Johnson became the fastest player in NFL history to reach 10,000 receiving yards. It took Johnson 115 games, beating Torry Holt record of 116 games.

Calvin Johnson said, “That’s big, especially for a receiver. To be able to do it, in the fashion that we were able to do it and with the help I have from the rest of my teammates, we all share and take part in that. It’s big.”

Johnson was short by only 94 yards entering Thursday’s game and it only took him one half to get the yardage he needed. Johnson finished with 11 catches for 146 yards in the Detroit Lions 34-17 victory over the Chicago Bears. Johnson also moved up to 43rd all time in receiving yards, passing Eric Moulds. He now has 10,052 and will look to pass Shannon Sharpe record of 10,060 next week.

It was also Johnson 42nd career 100-yard game and he’s now tied for 15th all time with Chris Carter, who’s a Hall of Famer.
