Clemson Lands Four-Star Defensive End Xavier Kelly

The Clemson Tigers have landed another big commitment from Xavier Kelly on Friday. The 2016 defensive end is the 11th commitment in the class for the Tigers.

The 6’5″, 255-pound Kansas native is currently ranked as the 103rd player in the nation, number eight weak side defensive end and the number one player in his state, according to 247Sports.

Kelly chose Clemson over Alabama, Florida State, Michigan, Georgia, Kansas State, Oregon and TCU.

“They were just telling me nothing but great things about Clemson and giving me a lot of good reasons why I should go there. They really need me and I’m in a perfect position to come at this time. I love everything about Clemson. It’s a family environment and they are all about academics. They really care about their players outside of football.”

Clemson has had a good history lately of bringing in high ranked recruits, but have struggled to develop many into dominant players. Overall this is a great get for the Tigers and should really boost their class moving forward.
