The Chicago Cubs have traded Junior Lake to the Baltimore Orioles for Tommy Hunter, according to Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports. Joel Sherman of the New York Post was the first to report Lake going to Baltimore.
Hunter, 28, has been great in his time out of the bullpen, after struggling as a starter for his first few seasons. The righty has posted a 3.63 ERA in 44 2/3 innings with a WHIP of 1.16 and a FIP of 3.32.
Lake, 25, is hitting .241/.283/.380 with 16 home runs and 46 RBIs in 642 big league plate appearances from 2013 to 2015. The outfielder has played well in Triple-A this season, slashing .315/.404/.473 with seven homers and 31 RBIs in 231 plate appearances.
