D.J. Stewart’s Scouting Report

Hitting

Stewart is one of the more underrated hitters in this draft. He has an outstanding knowledge of the strike zone to go with extreme patience at the plate. Stewart has a level swing and generates plenty of power. He looks like a guy that could hit 30 plus homers a season with some professional coaching.

Fielding

Stewart lacks the range and arm to play outfield at the next level, so expect him to be either a designated hitter or a first baseman.

Baserunning

Stewart isn’t going to wow anyone with his speed, but he does still the occasional base.
