On this day in 1991, the New York Giants beat the Buffalo Bills 20-19 in Super Bowl XXV. The Bills had a chance to win the game, but kicker Scott Norwood missed a 47 yard field goal with just eight-seconds left in the game. Giants running back Ottis Anderson won the MVP, rushing for 102 yards on 21 attempts and scoring a touchdown.

On this day in 1982, Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Geoff Huston set an organization record with 27 assists in the Cavs 110-106 win over the Golden State Warriors. Only five other players have had more assist in a single game, with Scott Skiles holding the record at 30.
MLB
On this day in 1982, the Chicago Cubs traded Ivan DeJesus to the Philadelphia Phillies for Larry Bowa and Ryne Sandberg. Sandberg would go onto collect 2,386 career hits with a .285 batting average. He was elected into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2005.
