NFL

On this day in 1993, the Dallas Cowboys beat the Buffalo Bills 52-17 in Super Bowl XXVII. It is tied for the third biggest blowout in Super Bowl history, and it was the Cowboys third win in six Super Bowl appearances. The Bills became the first team to lose three consecutive Super Bowls, and would lose again the following year to Dallas 30-13.

NBA

On this day in 1994, Atlanta Hawks small forward Dominique Wilkins became the 11th player in NBA history to record 23,000 career points. Wilkins scored 24 in the Hawks 90-85 win over the Dallas Mavericks.

MLB

On this day in 2013, the newly acquired Martin Prado agrees to a $40 million, four-year deal with the Arizona Diamondbacks, who had just traded Justin Upton and Chris Johnson to Atlanta for Prado and others.
