The Seattle Mariners have acquired Mark Trumbo and Vidal Nuno from the Arizona Diamondbacks, according to Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports. Arizona will receive Welington Castillo, Dominic Leone, Gabriel Guerrero and Jack Reinheimer from the Mariners.
Trumbo, 29, is earning $6.9 million this season and is under team control through 2016 via arbitration. He will be a major addition for a team that has struggled to score runs, with just 191 this season which is 28th in the majors. Trumbo is currently hitting .259 with 9 homers and 23 RBIs.
The Diamondbacks on the other hand got a backup catcher, a reliever and two solid prospects.
