Fantasy Football: Waiver Wire – Week 8

Week 7 Takeaways:

Is Todd Gurley this year’s Odell Beckham Jr.? I think he is! He is a rare breed that could make Hakeem Olajuwon look good at left tackle. He will be in the top 3 of rushing this year and he’s not even 100 percent healthy!  I think the Dolphins were colluding to get their coach fired. They are a different team since they hired PC Principal as their interim head coach. If Andrew Luck didn’t get lucky on those two bombs to Hilton, Chuck Pagano would have been on monster.com Monday morning. Luck is playing like he wants his tight end coach moved up to be the interim coach. Amari Cooper is phenomenal. His route running and yards after catch is one of a seasoned veteran. At least Arian Foster had the decency to score 30 points before getting hurt. Get well soon Champ! The Eagles offense should work for BFI(courtesy of Robert Wells III). Their offense is a dumpster fire. Sam “Badford” just doesn’ fit Chip Kelly’s scheme. Speaking of Eagles, Jordan
Matthews drops more balls than a blind juggler. Tom Brady is the G.O.A.T. and it’s not up for discussion. Am I crazy for hoping Steve Smith gets traded back to Carolina? Cam Newton is singlehandedly putting Carolina on his back(keep pounding). Dallas Cowboys beat writers said Christine Michael was getting the bulk of the first team reps during the bye week. This soliloquy was more fake than the pop-ups that tell me it’s hot girls in my neighborhood that wanna go out on a “date” with me. Let’s get into some waiver wire pick-ups.

Waiver Wire QB to target: Ryan Fitzpatrick (28% owned)
The punch heard around the world has landed Fitzpatrick in the starting role and he hasn’t disappointed! He has truly carried Gang Green and I expect this to carryover into the rest of the season. He completed 22 of 39 passes for 295 yards and two touchdowns against the defending champs. Fitz should have had 3 touchdowns if Brandon Marshall didn’t get Jordan Matthews hands on a wide open back shoulder pass in the end zone. Ryan’s next opponents are Oakland, Jacksonville, Buffalo and Houston. You can start Fitz with confidence for the next month.
Honorable Mention: Jameis Winston (No that’s not a typo)

Waiver Wire RB to target: Darren McFadden (38% owned)

Run DMC was once his nickname. This was probably while he was destroying the SEC with the wildcat. Many might remember him as Bum DMC during his tenure at Oakland. I have always been enamored with his physicality and running style. Injures have alway been his achilles heel(no pun intended Arian). But DMC was running like a man possessed against the Giants. McFadden ran for 152 yards and a touchdown against N.Y. But his production will be predicated on how long Joseph Randle will be out with an oblique injury. Temper your expectations because the Cowboys play Seattle this week and they go on a bye the following week.
Honorable Mention: Alfred Blue, Matt Jones

Waiver Wire WR to target: Stefon Diggs (61% owned)
You’ve seen what he has done for three weeks in a row. He should be owned in all formats. His “owned” percentage should be at least 80 percent.
Honorable Mention: Robert Woods,Michael Floyd, Marvin Jones

Waiver Wire TE to target: Eric Ebron (25% owned)
The #1 TE to target is truly Jordan Reed but he’s going on a bye so most owners need immediate help so Ebron is the player to go after. Eric is clearly the #2 target in this offense. The Lions offensive line doesn’t give Stafford enough time to get the ball to Calvin Johnson so Ebron is the safety valve. He’s snagged at least 4 catches in the 4 games that he has completed. And has scored in three of four games. Once again, temper your expectations because Kansas City is #1 against the tight end position.
Honorable Mention: Jordan Reed

Good luck on the waiver wire and may the odds be ever in your favor…
