Portland State over Washington State
Portland State won its first game over a Pac 12 opponent and limited the high powered Washington State offense to 17 points. They did so by stopping the Cougars in the red zone and playing good ball control offense that included a seven minute scoring drive in the fourth quarter. This was a big upset and great moment for the Portland State Vikings but it was an embarrassing loss for Washington State. They beat this same FCS (Division 1-AA) opponent 59-21 just last season and it does not bode well for the future of the 2015 season with the Pac 12 schedule ahead.
