The SEC is not as good as the experts thought
Overall, week 2 of the college football season was an abysmal weekend for the SEC. The league somehow had ten teams ranked in the top 25 of the AP Poll before the weekend began and now that number is down to seven. The SEC West in particular looked weak as it took overtime for Auburn to knock off FCS opponent, Jacksonville State and Arkansas lost at home to lowly Toledo. The SEC East did not look much better as Tennessee blew a 17-3 fourth quarter lead at home and lost in double overtime to Oklahoma. Florida and Missouri also struggled with weaker non conference teams and eked out wins against East Carolina and Arkansas State. The season is still early but the SEC’s reputation took a hit on Saturday.
