Five Observations After Week 2 of the College Football Season

2 of 5

Notre Dame seems to have great offensive depth

One week after losing starting running back Tarean Folston for the season, the Fighting Irish lost starting quarterback Malik Zaire for the remainder of the year. So far Folston’s backup C.J. Prosise has filled in admirably and has 253 rushing yards through the first two games of the year. The season appeared to be lost on Saturday for the Fighting Irish after Malik Zaire’s injury and a squandered a 26-14 lead against Virginia. However, new quarterback DeShone Kizer saved the day when he led the team on a game winning drive, capped by a 40 yard touchdown pass to Will Fuller with twelve seconds to play.
