Georgia Tech (8-4) finished their regular season with a 28-27 victory over rival Georgia (7-5). The Yellow Jackets were led by their running back trio of Clinton Lynch, Marcus Marshall and Qua Searcy. Lynch finished with 59 yards and a touchdown on four carries, Marshall had nine carries for 55 yards and a touchdown and Searcy ran the ball eight times for 40 yards and a touchdown. Quarterback Justin Thomas finished with 164 yards on 6-of-10 passing and an interception. The Georgia Tech defense also came up big, picking off two passes.
Georgia running back Sony Michel ran for 170 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries, while junior Nick Chubb had 22 carries for 88 yards and a touchdown.
