The San Francisco Giants have placed right-hander Mike Leake on the disabled list with a hamstring injury. The team has also recalled lefty Josh Osich from Triple-A. Ryan Vogelsong will take Leake’s place in the rotation.
The Giants acquired the 27-year-old Leake from the Reds at the trade deadline and were hoping to get 12-13 starts out of him. San Francisco did get one start from Leake, who went 6 1/3 innings, giving up two runs on eight hits.
Leake has posted an ERA of 3.52 and a WHIP of 1.17 in 143 innings with the Reds and Giants this season.
