Giants Sign Kevin Frandsen to a Minor League Deal

The San Francisco Giants have signed Kevin Frandsen to a minor league deal, according to Jerry Crasnick of ESPN.com. Frandsen started his career in San Francisco in 2006.

The 33-year-old has yet to play in the major this season and has a career slash line of .259/.313/.350 with 15 home runs. The Nationals had avoided arbitration with Frandsen by signing him to a one-year, $1 million deal with $300K worth of incentives. Washington ended up releasing him on April 1st, and was then signed by the Diamondbacks to a minor league deal. He was released by Arizona on May 30th.

The Giants are searching for a third baseman and are hoping that Frandsen can repeat the success he had in 2012.
