#Dodgers’ Olivera flying to Arizona today. Will spend a few weeks at team’s training facility in Glendale, then join a minor-league club. — Ken Rosenthal (@Ken_Rosenthal) May 19, 2015
The 29-year-old signed a six-year, $62.5 million deal with the Dodgers back in March. Olivera was a dominant hitter in the Cuban National Series, posting a career .323 batting average to go with a .407 on-base percentage in his 10 seasons. He has been out of the game for over a year and a half and the major league game is so much different. It will be interesting to see what Olivera can do for Los Angeles this season or if he even plays at the big league level.
