Duke and Mike Krzyzewski received great news on Sunday, getting a commitment from Jayson Tatum. The Missouri native is the number three player in the country, number one small forward and number one player in his state, according to 247Sports.
He chose the Blue Devils over Kentucky, Saint Louis and North Carolina.
“I love the way the program is run and I love the way the academics are set up,” Tatum said of Duke. “My relationships with the Duke coaches were the best, and they made me a priority. They did the best job of recruiting me and have been at almost all my games, and that means a lot.”
Tatum is the first player to commit to Duke in the 2016 class.
