Kansas got off to a poor start against South Dakota State, trailing the Jackrabbits 10-0 with 8:09 left in the first quarter. Ryan Schadler then changed the game by returning a Jay Carlson kick 91 yards for a touchdown.
South Dakota State would answer with another touchdown and lead the Jayhawks 31-14 at the half. Kansas has opened the second half with two TDs to cut the Jackrabbits lead to three.
