Kyle Funkhouser’s Scouting Report
Funkhouser is a solid righty with a great fastball and a solid slider. He’s been dominant this season for Louisville and has elevated his draft stock, taking advantage of injuries to other top pitchers. Funkhouser also offers a curveball and changeup but those pitches are still in development. He does struggle with his command at times and that may be do to his follow through. He throws his right leg around the front of his body and it ends up on the first base side of the mound. This causes him to throw across his body and could affect his ability to throw strikes. Overall Funkhouser is a quality pitcher with plus potential that could end up being a reliever at the big league level.
