Kyle Tucker’s Scouting Report
Hitting
Tucker has a smooth controlled swing with loft that generates plenty of bat speed. He’s a hitter with plus average and power potential. Tucker batted .435 over four years in high school, and hit an unbelievable .556 as a sophomore. He has good patience and vision at the plate which could result in a lot of walks. Tucker is second to Dansby Swanson when it comes to hitting in this draft. He projects as a #3 hitter at the big league level.
Fielding
Tucker is best suited for a corner outfield spot with this great arm strength. He doesn’t have the defensive prowess of a player like Brendan Rogers, but he can still be an effective defender. His future could possibly be at first base with his height and range.
Baserunning
Tucker has speed but as he adds weight to his frame I expect him to slow down and not be a threat on the base paths.
