Luke Scott Signs a Minor League Deal with the Blue Jays

The Toronto Blue Jays have signed outfielder/first baseman Luke Scott to a minor league contract, according to SB Nation’s Chris Cotillo.

Scott, 36, hasn’t played in a big league game since 2013 when he played for Tampa Bay. He has a career slash line of .258/.340/.481 with 135 homers in nine major league seasons. Scott’s best season was in 2010 with the Orioles, he hit 27 homers to go with 72 RBIs and a .284 batting average.

It’s fair to say that he’s past the 20-plus home runs seasons, but he could still be a great addition for Toronto.
