Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Marcus Stroman will miss the entire 2015 season with a torn ACL, the Blue Jays announced.
Stroman was coming off a great rookie campaign in which he posted a 3.65 ERA and went 11-6 in 20 starts. The 23-year old righty was set to play a major role in the Blue Jays quest to break their 21 year postseason drought.
Stroman tore his ACL in bunting practice when third baseman Josh Donaldson called him off. He planted his feet to stop and felt a pop in his left knee, according to the Toronto’s general manager Alex Anthopoulos. An MRI has already confirmed a tear, but Stroman will meet with Dr. James Andrews for a second opinion. The Blue Jays expect that he will have to undergo surgery to repair the tear.
Beyond devastated. Not being able to compete with my brothers each and every day is extremely disappointing. Still can’t believe it.

Appreciate the love. Don’t be upset though. I promise to be back even stronger with a bigger smile. Faith and confidence define me! #EHFAR
