The Miami Marlins have decided to let their manager Mike Redmond and bench coach Rob Leary go, according to the team. Redmond had a record of 155-207 and was in his third season with the team.
The Marlins will name a new manager tomorrow at a 11:00 a.m. ET new conference.
The firing came just minutes after the Braves swept the Marlins and Shelby Miller nearly no-hit the team. There had already been rumors of a firing when the Marlins got of to a 3-11 start to the season. But those rumors went away after the team got back on track. The Marlins started to struggle once again to start May, losing ten of their last 14 games.
Miami is currently fourth in the National League East, five games back of the New York Mets.
