Matt Manning’s Scouting Report

Manning is an excellent athlete, who has signed on with Loyola Marymount to play both basketball and baseball. The 6’6″ righty has a solid fastball to go with his plus potential curveball and a developing changeup. He has a fluid, repeatable and easy delivery. Manning will occasionally get wild with his secondary pitches, but that is something that can be fixed with good coaching.

Where could Manning end up in the draft?

It looks like the ceiling for Manning is the Padres at eight, with the floor probably being the Rays at 13. Manning will most likely go nine to the Tigers, if Riley Pint or Braxton Garrett aren’t available.
