Melvin Gordon is having a sensational season and rushed for over 200-yards for the fifth time this season. The only other Wisconsin running back to ever do that was Ron Dayne and he did it twice. Dayne did it in 1996 and 1999, he also rushed for over 2000 yards both of those seasons.
Gordon had exactly 200 yards rushing on 31 carries and two touchdowns in Wisconsin 26-24 win over Iowa. Gordon leads the country in rushing with 2,109 yards and still has three games left, if Wisconsin beats Minnesota next week. Gordon has 25 rushing touchdowns on the season and has score a rushing touchdown in every game but one. He has scored a receiving or rushing touchdown in every game this season.
Melvin Gordon in my opinion is the best running back available in the draft this year. He is a fun player to watch and I hope he plays against an SEC team in the bowl game, so we can see how good he really is. Gordon still has a shot at the Heisman and I think he would get my vote. The one thing that could hurt him is Wisconsin’s loss to Northwestern earlier this season. If they win that game then this team is in the playoff conversation.
