The New York Mets have acquired Tyler Clippard from the Oakland Athletics for righty Casey Meisner, according to Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com. New York will also receive cash from Oakland.
The 30-year-old Clippard is having another great season, posting an ERA of 2.79 in 38 2/3 innings with 17 saves. The two-time All-Star has struggled with walks, but has been able to get out of trouble so far.
Meisner, 20, is having a solid season in Class-A and Class A-Advanced. He’s posted a 2.35 ERA in 111 innings and a WHIP of 1.144 in 2015.
