Mike Fiers Throws No-Hitter Against the Dodgers

Houston Astros pitcher Mike Fiers tossed a no-hitter against the Los Angeles Dodgers tonight when he struck out Justin Turner to end the game.  It was the Fiers first no-hitter and his first career shutout.

The righty set down Jimmy Rollins, Chase Utley and Turner in the ninth.  It took Fiers 134 pitches, striking out 10 and walking three.  Evan Gattis and Jake Marisnick provided the run support with both players going yard off of Brett Anderson.

It was the first no-hitter by an Astros starting pitcher since Darryl Kile on September 8, 1993.  Houston had a combined no-no involving Roy Oswalt, Pete Munro, Kirk Saarloos, Brad Lidge, Octavio Dotel and Billy Wagner on June 11, 2003.
