Highlights

Seattle Mariners pitcher Felix Hernandez recorded his 2,000 strikeout against the Oakland Athletics.  King Felix struck out Sam Fuld in the fifth inning, becoming fourth youngest pitcher to achieve the feat at the age of 29 years and 32 days.  The only pitcher younger than him were Bert Blyleven, Sam McDowell and Walter Johnson.

New York Yankees pitcher Michael Pineda struck out a career-high 16 batters in just seven innings of work in a 6-2 win over the Orioles.

Gordon Beckham hit a walk-off bloop single scoring Avisail Garcia to give the White Sox a 3-2 win over the Cincinnati Reds.

Matt Duffy hit a walk-off single to score Gregor Blanco and give the San Francisco Giants a 3-2 win over the Miami Marlins.
