Nebraska comes back to beat Iowa in OT

Nebraska came back to beat Iowa after trailing 24-7 late in the third quarter. The comeback gave the Cornhuskers nine wins on the season and still have a shot at a tenth win, if they can win their bowl game.

Nebraska was lead by sophomore quarterback Tommy Armstrong Jr., he threw for 202 yards and four touchdowns.

Nebraska’s special teams came thru after struggling earlier in the game. They returned a punt back for an 80-yard touchdown, that gave them the lead in the fourth quarter. Kicker Drew Brown tied up the game to send it to overtime, with less than 10 seconds left in the game.

Senior Receiver Kenny Bell caught a nine yard touchdown pass from Armstrong to give Nebraska the win in overtime 37-34.

Iowa fell to 7-5 and will be looking forward to a bowl game. It was an overall disappointing season for the Hawkeyes.

Nebraska overcame a two game losing streak and will have to wait a week or so to find out who they play next. They have a good chance to play on New Year’s Day.
