NFL Owners Vote for New Extra Point Rule

The NFL owners have approved a change to extra point attempts, according to Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports.

Field goal attempts will now be taken from the 15-yard line, which is a 33-yard field goal try. Two-Pion conversions will remain the same and continue to be done from the two-yard line. The opposing defense can now return the attempts for two points the other way if they force a turnover.

Teams can also opt to kick for one point if they line up for a two-point conversion and are penalized.

The new rule wasn’t voted unanimously as the Raiders and Redskins both voted against the rule.
