The Oakland Athletics have signed Dayan Viciedo to a minor league contract, according to Matt Eddy of Baseball America. He will report to Triple-A Nashville.

The 26-year-old was once a very promising prospect for the White Sox, but he never lived up to his hype. He hit .231 last season with 21 homers, 58 RBIs and striking out 122 times.
