The Oakland Raiders have been awful this season, starting out 0-10. Thursday the Raiders would find a way to win, but they almost lost it by celebrating early.
On a third and six for the Chiefs and under a minute left in the game, the Raiders were holding on to a 24-20 lead. Sio Moore sacked Alex Smith for a 7-yard loss. The crowd was going crazy and so was Moore and rookie Khalil Mack, who were celebrating about 13 yards behind the line of scrimmage. They didn’t realize that the Chiefs still had one more play and Kansas City was hurrying to the line.
Alex Smith saw what was going on and tried to get the snap off, but Oakland veteran Justin Tuck called a timeout saving the two youngsters from a humiliating penalty.
The Chiefs were unable to convert on the fourth down and the Raiders pulled out the victory.
