On this day in 1992, Houston Rockets center Hakeem Olajuwon became just the six player in NBA history to record 2,000 career blocks. Olajuwon achieved the milestone by blocking seven shots in a 90-83 Rockets win over the San Antonio Spurs.
On this day in 1993, Utah Jazz point guard John Stockton became the fourth guard in NBA history to reach 8,000 career assists. He achieved the milestone by picking up seven assists in a 105-78 Jazz loss to the Houston Rockets. At the time the only other guards to achieve that milestone where Oscar Robertson, Isiah Thomas, and Magic Johnson.

On this day in 2012, Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Ryan Braun avoided a 50-game suspension by successfully challenging the results of his positive drug test. The group that heard the appeal voted in favor of Braun 2-1 because of the test collector stored the urine sample in his home refrigerator for two days before sending it off to the lab for analysis.
